What is a corporate credit card and how does it work?

A corporate credit card is issued directly to a company rather than an individual employee, with the business, not the employee, liable for repayment. Rho issues corporate credit cards with no personal guarantee and no personal credit report required to apply. The business settles the balance on Daily or Monthly Terms, the customer's choice.

Types of corporate cards

A corporate charge card must be paid in full each cycle, with no revolving balance. A corporate purchasing card, or P-card, is scoped to vendor and procurement spend, sometimes called a procurement card in larger purchasing workflows. Rho's corporate credit card settles on Daily or Monthly Terms.

Corporate card vs. business credit card

The terms overlap, but "business credit card" more often refers to a card issued to a small-business owner personally, sometimes with a personal guarantee attached. "Corporate card" typically implies company-level underwriting instead. Rho's corporate credit card is underwritten on the business, with no personal guarantee and no personal credit report pull required.

How to choose a corporate card program

Start with eligibility: does the issuer require a minimum cash balance, revenue, or a personal guarantee. Then compare the real Cashback mechanics, not just the headline rate: is it cash or points, and what spend counts. Rho's corporate card requires no personal guarantee, and pays up to 2% Cashback with Rho Platinum on card spend (terms apply).

Companies holding idle operating cash can also pair a Rho Corporate Card with a separate Rho Business Savings Account, which offers up to $75M in FDIC deposit insurance per entity through the Rho Business Savings Account only, reflecting program capacity on a commercially reasonable efforts basis, not a guarantee.
